We’re excited to invite K–12 students to Rhythm in Motion: Beyond the Beat, a dynamic, daytime dance experience designed to help students explore movement as expression, connection, and communication.
Rhythm in Motion: Beyond the Beat is a creative dance lab where students engage with rhythm, musicality, and movement in a welcoming, non-competitive environment. Led by collegiate dance majors representing a wide range of styles, this program encourages students to listen, respond, and move with intention—going beyond choreography and beyond a single style of dance.
Participants will experience a variety of movement styles, including:

Ballet

Hip hop

Contemporary
-
Afro fusion
-
Latin
-
Street styles
Through these styles, students build:

Rhythm and musicality

Creativity and stage presence

Body awareness and coordination
-
Confidence and self-expression
Movement is also used as a tool to support emotional regulation, focus, and connection, allowing students to express themselves physically while developing important social-emotional skills.
