Juneteenth Block Party in Downtown Tempe

The Juneteenth Block Party returns to Downtown Tempe on Saturday, June 14 from 7–11 PM at Centerpoint Plaza. This free evening event shines a spotlight on Black culture. We’re bringing back crowd favorites and adding a few new experiences for year two.

Here’s what to expect:
▪️Teri Tobin will return as this year's emcee!
▪️Live DJ sets from DJ Panic & DJ Akshen
▪️Hip-hop dance battles hosted by Furious Styles Crew
▪️Spoken word by Urban Poet
▪️Performances by SouthWest Steppaz
▪️A pop-up roller rink from Zoni Girls!
▪️Two immersive experiences that will bring Juneteenth history to the forefront: "Traveling While Black" (A VR experience transporting you through lived experiences of black travelers during the Jim Crow era) & "The Porch" (Elders will share lived experiences of segregation, resistance, and triumph).
▪️A guided, interactive art installation titled "The Light We Carry", lead by local artist Zybrena Porter
▪️Local vendors serving up soul food
▪️Crown Royal canned cocktails and locally awarded beers by Pedal Haus
▪️RichKat mobile cigar lounge
▪️The semifinals and finals of the Barber Battle. See who takes the crown!
▪️An old school ice cream truck serving up nostalgia
▪️Free 360 photo booth
▪️Classic games like Spades and Chess
